Best season
Mild days for temple towns, the coast and Kanyakumari sunrises. Pongal in January is a wonderful time to visit.
Hill season
The plains get hot, so this is the time for Ooty, Kodaikanal and Yercaud, with temple visits planned for early mornings.
Shoulder season
Fewer crowds and good value. The northeast monsoon brings rain to the coast from October, so we plan around it.
